Losing weight has always been a struggle for me. I actually love working out, but hate eating right. (Mexican food is by far my favorite guilty pleasure!) However, I have learned through the years, especially as I’ve gotten older, eating healthy is so important to maintaining or losing weight. When I was younger I would just increase my workouts by 10 or 15 minutes and lose a few pounds. But in my 40s, I needed to add 30 extra minutes to my workout and cut out at least a meal or two (or more) before seeing any difference on the scale! I had to make a change, and it happened when I joined the HMR weight management program.
The reason I was so successful with HMR (I lost 25 lbs!) is program’s systematic approach. I know what I should be eating, but I don’t always make the right choices. HMR takes the guess work out of choosing and gives you a plan that guarantees success. If you follow the plan, you will lose weight! Plus, it allows you to eat more when you are hungry – you just have to eat the right foods. It’s all about choice and isn’t that what eating is all about? I chose to eat a lot and gain weight and then I chose to eat an appropriate amount and the right foods to lose weight. HMR helped me make the right choices and gave me the guidelines for success! Plus, tracking everything you eat makes you very self-aware of your behavior. If you are truly in it to succeed and lose weight, you’ll know if you are moving the right direction by journaling your food and exercise.
Again, it’s simple… decrease your input, increase your output, and keep track of it all to stay on course. Of course it isn’t so simple when you are going through it and I’ve definitely had some setbacks, but that comes back to me and my choices. When I need to kick it into gear again, I go back to the program and get back on track. When you know something works, you do it again for guaranteed success. Everyone likes to be a winner!
