Junior Counselors in Training

Junior Counselors in Training (CITs) are dedicated young leaders who are beginning their journey in developing the skills necessary to become camp counselors. As a CIT, you'll work alongside experienced staff to assist with daily camp activities, mentor campers, and gain hands-on experience in a supportive, team-oriented environment. This program is designed to foster personal growth, leadership development, and teamwork, while allowing you to make a positive impact on the camp community. Throughout the summer, CITs will participate in training sessions, gain practical experience, and receive feedback to prepare for future opportunities as camp counselors.
Responsibilities may include:
  • Assisting counselors with group management and activities
  • Leading small groups in age-appropriate games and crafts
  • Helping with camp setup, cleanup, and organization
  • Serving as role models for campers and promoting a positive, inclusive atmosphere
The CIT program is a fantastic opportunity for young individuals who are eager to develop leadership skills, build confidence, and make lasting memories at camp! The cost to be a JCT is $100/week and covers the cost of your counselor t-shirts and field trips. To be eligible to be a JCT, you must be going into 7th, 8th, or 9th grade.
